Yuko Hoshino
Owner of Mejiro Birth House,
Chief of Maternity Center
Ms. Hoshino’s vast experience includes over 1100 deliveries. Her practice includes myofascial treatment
and has been highly established not only for natural birth delivery
but health care after childbirth.
In the beginning of her career, she received a certificate in midwifery in 1979 after graduating from SEIBO College of Nursing.
She practiced midwifery at Tokai University Hospital, SEIBO Hospital, and other obstetrics and gynecology hospitals, then became an official visitation counselor for neonatal infants and families in the Cities of Toshima and Nerima. During her counseling practice, she also instructed women on personal healthcare at the YWCA.
She practiced in the assistance of home birthing since 1994 while working as a midwife in a maternity center.
In 1998 she started her own practice of midwifery, the Mejiro Birth House.
Akane Inoue
Assistant Chief of Maternity Center
Mrs. Inoue hopes that all babies are born happy and experience a delightful future. It is her destiny to become a midwife who is able to engage in the experience of pregnancy and birth.
She applied as an intern to Mejiro Birth House during her practicing of midwifery at the College of Biomedical Technology, Niigata University. She was greatly influenced by the activity by Yuko Hoshino, an experienced midwife, owner and chief of maternity at the Mejiro Birth House.
After working at the obstetrics, pediatrics, and NICU departments in a Nigata prefectural hospital, she has practiced midwifery at Mejiro Birth House since 2005.
She is a mother of three young children, 2 boys and a girl. All were born at the Mejiro Birth House.
